Characteristics of the project

EMRP Researcher Grant SIB53-REG2 Development of the polyphase ac voltage source for digital impedance bridges The research project "EMRP Researcher Grant SIB53-REG2 - Development of the polyphase ac voltage source for digital impedance bridges" is being carried out at the Institute of Metrology, Electronics and Computer Science UZ as a part of the European Metrology Research Programme - EMRP. The project is an autonomous part of the Joint Research Project (JRP) "Automated impedance Extending the quantum metrology toolbox for electricity" (SIB53 AIM Qute), which includes the research in the field of quantum standards of electrical quantities. To implement that project it has been founded the consortium consisting of National Metrology Institutes (NMIs) from 11 European countries and two universities. The consortium consists of:

The main objective of the JRP project is to improve the accuracy of the impedance standard measurements to the level better than currently achieved in the world. Simultaneously it is connected with increased opportunities for impedance comparisons, which are currently limited to comparisons of standards with a fixed (usually decade) ratio of their magnitude values and the difference of arguments (phase angle) limited to values from the set 0 °, ± 90 °, ± 180 °. Developed within the JRP framework the methods and measurement systems allow comparison with highest accuracy the impedance standards about any ratio of magnitudes and difference of arguments in the band 20 Hz - 20 kHz. This will be achieved through the development of a new generation of Josephson bridges and automatic digital bridges. The aim of the project carried out at the Institute of Metrology, Electronics and Computer Science (IMEI UZ) is to develop a high-precision polyphase digital sinusoidal voltage source intended for use in automatic digital impedance bridges which will be developed within SIB53 AIM Qu TE.
